NAVIGATING THRU AUTISM is about an adolescent male diagnosed with autism and the tools his family used to prepare him for adulthood. His mother, father and sister tell their experience as parents and a sibling - explaining how they navigated as a family through the process. His community is a vital part of him succeeding. Featured in the book are colored photo collages of his extended family that proceed each chapter. The title of the chapters are indicated below.

One of the first milestones to cross is getting professionals to recognize your child’s circumstance. One of the enormous mistakes we can make is to let physicians indicate to us their prognosisconcerning our children, when we have not disclosed all the details.

This entry serves to give insight on Kenny and my point of view as a father of an autistic son. We are blessed to have Kenny as a part of our lives.

This is an area where I have second guessed pushing him where he ordinarily wouldn’t try. For the most part, I did well. Either he liked it, or in most cases, it became a part of his everyday life. At an open house, I went to the microphone to proclaim how the honor.

You can have whatsoever you say. Death and Life are in the Power of the Tongue. (Proverbs 18:21) If you speak negatively, you will receive negative things. If we speak positive, we start to believe what we say, which will bring on the manifestation. Affirmations are good. The more you say them, the more you believe them.

We’ll this concluding chapter before the journal entries is what this book is all about. In every chapter, I think the essence of navigation was captured. They do not learn by cramming, they learn in spurts, and that’s ok.
